Nasir Al Nasir, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Doha Encounters tells CB Insights how they view the market, customer needs, and their company.
How do you define your market and where does your company fit into that space?
I define our market as inbound leisure tourism and destination experiences in Qatar. At the broadest level, Qatar welcomed around 5.1 million international visitors in 2025, so that gives us a useful sense of the overall addressable market. Within that market, however, our focus is much narrower — international leisure travelers, especially those looking for private, customized, or stopover experiences, as well as travelers booking through overseas travel advisors and tour operators. Doha Encounters sits in that market as a locally based inbound tour operator. We’re not trying to be another marketplace selling standard sightseeing products. What we’re building is a more personalized local service that combines itinerary design, destination knowledge, and actual delivery on the ground. The main problem we solve is that many travelers, and even travel advisors, know they want to experience Qatar, but they don’t necessarily have a trusted local partner who can turn that into a well-designed, reliable, and genuinely local experience. Our goal is really to make Qatar easier to understand, easier to plan, and easier to experience.
