How has Asia’s innovation ecosystem evolved over the past decade?
Over the past decade, the status of the Asian market has changed dramatically. In particular, East Asian countries such as Korea, China, Japan, and Taiwan have seen significant growth in their innovation ecosystems. In the past, Asia largely operated as a fast follower — adopting and adapting technologies and brands from the West. However, since around 2015, Asia has evolved into a global leader not only in technology but also in industries such as beauty and fashion.
