The Wealth Management Industry Awards Rising Star of the Year recognizes next-generation individual advisors or executives at financial advisory firms who demonstrate vision, creativity, integrity, leadership and high performance in making an impact on their firm, the industry and wealth management in general during the past year.

The criteria for the award include specific examples of firm and industry leadership, supporting initiatives that are driving change, and external benchmarks such as business growth, thought leadership content development, industry activism and more.

Individuals are nominated by their industry colleagues, and finalists are chosen by the Wealth Management Industry Awards’ independent panel of judges.

This year’s honorees include Imade Iyamu, the creator of We Made It in America, a podcast and media company sharing personal finance education for immigrants building wealth and navigating the American financial system, as well as Samuel Diarbakerly, the founder and CEO of Generation Capital Advisors, which has boasted 105% year-over-year growth and 100% client retention.

There’s also Brendan Frazier, chief behavioral officer at RFG Advisory and host of the Human Side of Money podcast, who launched RFG’s behavioral finance coaching program, introducing structured training focused on communication, active listening and client psychology.

The group was recognized on stage at the Wealthies awards gala in New York City on Sept. 10.
